More NFL Week 11 Sunday Action

And the excitement just continued. Following is more news about the  NFL Week 11 Sunday action. The 49ers got back to winning last week and continued to do so this week. Brock Purdy was on fire, throwing for three touchdowns, over 300 yards and zero interceptions. Next week they will clash with division rival Seattle Seahawks.

And speaking of the Seahawks, they lost a heart-breaker to the Rams. They started off scoring a touchdown on their opening possession. And they kept the lead all the way into the fourth quarter. But then the wheels fell off. Geno Smith had an elbow injury and missed most of the fourth quarter. He came in on their last possession and got into field goal range. However, it was 55 yard attempt that was no good. The Rams got the 16-17 victory.

After firing their offensive coordinator this week, the Bills offense was back in business. They racked up a 6-32 victory over the Jets. On the opening kickoff Jets returner Xavier Gipson ran the ball back 14 yards before being slammed by Reggie Gilliam. He coughed up the ball and the Bills recovered. A field goal was scored and it was over for the Jets. When the Jets finally managed to score a touchdown they attempted the 2-point conversion and failed.

Given that it was the end of the second quarter when they scored I’m not sure why they went for 2. Sure if they had got the 2 points the score would have been 8-16. However, they had another half of football to play so why not just kick the extra point? At any rate the touchdown was their only score of the game so I guess it really didn’t matter.

Rounding out the Sunday schedule was Minnesota Vikings at Denver Broncos. Whew that Viking defense is scary! They got after Russell Wilson continuously. Also the Broncos defense was not able to stop the Vikings rushing attack. Ty Chandler averaged 7.3 yards per carry! However, despite the Broncos struggles they kept the score close throughout the game though never taking the lead.

That came in the last quarter when Ja’Quan McMillian got things going with an interception resulting in a field goal. Eventually they got within two points of the lead but the Vikings scored another field goal. So with 3:17 to go the Broncos drove down the field and got their only touchdown of the night. The 2-point conversion attempt failed but it didn’t matter. The Vikings were not able to score again with 1:03 left on the clock. And Denver came away with an exciting 20-21 victory.
