Did Los Angeles hockey fans love seeing some familiar faces? You Betts! Moreover, not only did they enjoy one surprise guest; but they got the two for one special; getting the thrill of being pumped up by two legends. Yes, as announced, Mookie Betts attends the LA Kings Dodgers Night; but he is also joined by funny man, Will Ferrell!
Comedian and actor Will Ferrell is no stranger to the LA sports circuit. And at Dodger Night this year he gets the crowd in a complete frenzy; with not a joke, but a rally cry. The hockey fans oblige by heartily joining in loudly in one accord. An excellent moment in fandom.
Nevertheless, besides getting to see Betts and Will; some fans are also treated to new stylish merch. The Kings black and silver jerseys are already FIRE. However, for their special night celebrating fellow Los Angeles team the Dodgers; there’s a new jersey in the mix, and it is sick.
The hardcore, edgy silver and black gets swapped with a powder, baby blue tone with white lettering. However, to get it, on this particular occasion; fans have to purchase a certain ticket package. But, the Kings warn fans about this early on (and the day before); with the brief announcement via social media. The announcement features a video showing various Kings players showing off the blue jerseys and why they personally like it. Moreover, the caption along with the promo video gives a heads up Betts; it reads:
“It’s Dodgers Night tomorrow and we’ve got a special guest in store Mookie Betts will be dropping the puck ahead of tomorrow’s game!”

Speaking of the ceremonial puck drop; if you’re not too familiar with hockey, he will quickly you fill you in on what Mookie got to do. A puck drop is when play commences when an official drops the puck between two opponents. Therefore, the ceremonial version is a longstanding ritual where a guest of honor drops a puck in order to signal the end of pregame festivities and the start of the game.
Mookie looked like he had a ball getting to be apart of this ritual. And it just made us want time to pass quicker for baseball season. Let’s go!
