The wait is over. After tortuous months of wanting updates and any signs of life about The Show; today we finally got a cover reveal. Your MLB The Show 2024 Cover Star is Vladimir Guerrero Jr!
The cover is SUPER vibrant. Seriously… Every bright tone in the color spectrum is getting utilized for this one. However, the color flurry looks good and melds well with Vladdy and his Bluejays uniform.
Nevertheless, probably the coolest part of The Show’s promotional rollout for their 2024 cover star; is a short video featuring Hall of Famer, David Ortiz. The vid, posted to X (formerly Twitter); shows David and Vladdy talking inside a ballpark; down in the DR. David recalls when Vladimir’s dad asked Ortiz to come see his son play.
David points to some condo/apartment building and asks Vladimir if he remembers how many times he hit the building; knocking home runs way outside the field. Vlad Jr. laughs. He then points at a high fence near the building and says, “That [fence] they put that up for me!” Awesome.

The Show’s announcement for Vladimir Guerrero Jr, went something like this (via social media/ their official website):

Yes, last All Stars week (2023), Vladdy annihilated the competition during the HR Derby. Besting the likes of Jrod, Randy Arozarena, Pete Alonso, Mookie Betts and Adley Rutschman. Nevertheless, some fans are not exactly happy with this year’s cover choice since Vladimir had a “down year.”
However, ESPN’s baseball reporter, Alden Gonzalez, chatted up Vlad, who believes MLB fans are about to eat their negative words about him. Regarding the 2024 season, Alden reports,
“’This is when people are going to know about me. It’s going to be either ‘Vlad Jr. is back’ or ‘Vlad Jr. stayed behind.’ I’m focused on what I have to do.’
[Recently] I spoke with Vladimir Guerrero Jr., MLB The Show’s new cover athlete, about reclaiming his peak.”
