Well, as of today, Michael Brantley Announces His Retirement From the MLB after 15 exciting years.

Nevertheless, he is not leaving without any hardware or accolades. Brantley is leaving behind a legacy that includes being an All Star; as well as World Series champion.

Moreover, baseball franchises, the Cleveland Guardians and the Houston Astros both agree about Brantley’s high level contributions. They released statements in regards to Brantley’s gameplay and departure. The Guardians state,

Michael Brantley spent ten years of his career in Cleveland and the last remaining five as a Houston Astro. The 36 year old, earned the nickname, “Dr. Smooth” for his sweet swing and very consistent hitting. Heck… even in The Show video game the swing is smooth like butter.

Nevertheless, Jon Morosi of MLB Network, got an opportunity to catch up with Brantley. Morosi sums up Smooth’s career and got the new retiree to discuss his reasons for choosing now as the time to end his time as a baller and exit stage right. Morosi reports,

“NEWS: Michael Brantley, 5-time All-Star and one of the most respected players of his generation, has decided to retire.

Michael Brantley is announcing his retirement after 15 MLB seasons, five All-Star appearances, and the 2022 World Series title.

The widely respected Dr. Smooth spoke with me about his decision.

‘It’s time for me to be home 24/7, watch my kids grow up, and not miss important milestones,’ Brantley told me.

Great swing. Revered teammate. Respected opponent. 15 seasons in the MLB. 5 All-Star appearances. Extraordinary career.”
