Maximum Football 2024 Developer Update: Gameplay to Dynasty Mode and Customization
The developers of Maximum Football (Invictus Games Ltd.; this title is published by Modus Games); have been busy. While still no word on an official release date. The powers that be were still awesome enough to bless us with a Maximum Football 2024 developer update via Steam.
Let’s just dive straight into what they have to say. The note reads:
What’s going on everyone! Welcome back to another Maximum Football development diary!
It feels like 100 years since our last [note], but we’ve been grinding to make Maximum Football a true American Football Simulation video game.
With so much worked on since our last update, let’s get into the massive update about AI, animations, physics, dynasty, customization, multiplayer, sfx, vfx, and so much more.
Gameplay – The Core Focus
From day one, our top priority has been authentic gameplay. It’s all about creating a realistic football experience at every position. Getting basic football mechanics correct has been our goal.Blocking
There have been extensive improvements in the blocking game, including the addition of pull blocks, downfield blocks, and open field blocks. Blockers can double team a defender when needed, and then detach from the double team to target a new defender when the new threat is detected. Other blocking updates include:
-Smart, dynamic blockers; size and attributes matter.-No 3 or 4 person scenes that lock players into animations (like other football video games).
-Real-time adjustments, avoiding pre-made animation scenarios.
Passing
We’ve added realistic QB styles, from pocket passing to throw-on-the-run style QBs. Maximum Footballs’ Advanced AI helps to identify open receivers and allow QBs with certain attributes to throw with more accuracy/power.

Yep, a lot is getting done. In previous notes, the Dynasty Mode is the main star. Now it’s the use of AI and the avoidance of pre-made animation scenarios. However, the note reveals more. Let’s continue:
Catching
We’ve enhanced receiver attributes to help determine everything from how the receiver handles being pressed to how well the receiver can catch the football. Receivers can now adjust routes on the fly when passes are inaccurate or contested. We’ve also added hundreds of catching animations.Running Game
For the running game, we’ve added the following mechanics.
-Smooth, responsive ball carrier mechanics.-AI-led gap identification even in chaotic situations.
-Differentiated moves for power backs (stiff arm/truck) versus Speed backs (spin/juke).
Defense
On the defensive side of the ball, we’ve made the following improvements.
-Improved man and zone coverage AI.-Defensive gap assignment AI
-Advanced presnap adjustments, audibles, and player positioning.
-Attributes-driven play prediction and reaction.
-Physics tackles
2024 Maximum Football Gameplay Specifics Update
Very cool. However, there’s three last areas or aspects of the game that the developers have improved. The Maximum Football 2024 Developer Update note wraps up by stating,

Dynasty Mode
