Major League Baseball Announced 2025 Silver Slugger Award Winners in American and National Leagues

These guys were on fire all season! Major League Baseball has announced the 2025 Silver Slugger Award winners in the American and National Leagues. A few interesting fun facts to be gleaned from this year’s winners:

• Juan Soto has won a Silver Slugger in three straight years with three different teams. The only other player to win a Silver Slugger in three consecutive years with a different team was Mike Hampton.
• Hunter Goodman’s breakout season has made him the first Rockies Silver Slugger winner since 2019 (Trevor Story).
• Yankees Aaron Judge wins his fifth Silver Slugger Award
• KC’s Bobby Witt Jr. brings home the Silver Slugger award for the second year in a row
• Juan Soto is the player with the longest active Silver Slugger streak (6).
• The Diamondbacks have three Silver Slugger winners (Corbin Carroll, Ketel Marte and Geraldo Perdomo), their most since 2018 (Paul Goldschmidt and David Peralta).
• Cal Raleigh earns his first Silver Slugger with a historic 2025 season, setting the MLB record for most home runs (60) by a primary catcher in a single season.

According to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, the first Silver Slugger Awards were handed out after the 1980 season, but trophy bats have been bestowed upon outstanding players since baseball’s earliest days. If you ever get a chance to personally visit the Hall of Fame look for the “Taking the Field” exhibit. This specific exhibit includes this ornate award honoring Louis V. Bell’s 1876 Long Island League title. You’ll see a silver trophy bat with the engraving “CHAMPIONSHIP – LONG ISLAND LEAGUE 1876 – WON BY LOUIS V. BELL.”
