Lebron Responds to Critics and ESPN Removing Bronny from 2024 Mock Draft

It’s not easy being the son of a NBA legend. Much less trying to embark on a career in the very same industry. Doing so, will always lead to comparisons and much criticism. Due to the latter, dad is stepping in to defend his child; and help inspire other children to never give up on their sports dreams. Lebron responds to critics and ESPN removing Bronny from their 2024 Mock Draft; by discussing work ethic, and how mock drafts don’t tell the whole story.

Nevertheless, would we expect anything less from a parent? If anyone is going to ride for you; of course you’d want it to be those who care about you the most.

So then, what does Lebron James have to say about the mock draft situation? Bleacher Report compiled his statement before its deletion from the X platform. According to BR James mentions,

“Can yall please just let the kid be a kid and enjoy college basketball. The work and results will ultimately do the talking; no matter what he decides to do. If y’all don’t know he doesn’t care what a mock draft says, he just WORKS!

Earned Not Given!

And to all the other kids out there striving to be great. Just keep your head down, blinders on and keep grinding. These Mock Drafts doesn’t matter one bit! I promise you! Only the WORK MATTERS!! Let’s talk REAL BASKETBALL PEOPLE!”

Yes, it’s true mock drafts don’t always get it right. Yet, some basketball fans believe some of the harsh criticism is coming from a statement James made regarding Bronny in March of 2023. In a post via social platform X, Lebron says, “Man Bronny definitely better than some of these cats I’ve been watching on league pass today… lightweight hilarious.

Unfortunately, Bronny has not played up to his potential and expectations; just yet. And doesn’t mean he won’t get there. As Lebron James says, in time we will all have to look at the stats and results overall.

However, it’s also important to note that Bronny has had to change his initial plans due to health issues and concerns. Just months ago, Bronny was finally cleared to play ball; after experiencing heart complications. Therefore, the fact that he is back on the court at all is a miracle. It’s also a strong sign of his determination to be in the game.

Bronny in His Own Vehicle

So then, one thing we can conclude is this… Bronny will not be on the same trajectory as his father. He’s in college. His father skipped it.

Lebron may desire to play in the NBA with his son. Yet, it might not happen. Things may play out in a different way.

Therefore, all we can really focus on is death and taxes; and the fact that James’ son is a different person, different player and athlete. With different challenges as well as circumstances. Now it’s time for him to write his own narrative, story and legacy. Just see where the chips may fall.
