Lebron James’ 21st Season- Lakers Teammate Austin Reeves Talks Lebron Work Ethic
It is still so crazy to think we are all now spectators of Lebron James’ 21st season! It seems like only yesterday that Lebron was even drafted into the NBA. Yet, some two decades as well as an all time leading scorer record later; and here he is on the court, winning games.
However, all of this is not by accident. You don’t just get to a professional level and stay there for several years without: A. Talent or B. A great routine and work ethic. Lebron James possesses both.
James’ teammates notice his legendary commitment to hard work and excellence as well. For instance, Austin Reaves had a quick comment about Lebron and him coming back for yet another season. Reaves states,
“At this point, nothing surprises me with him. Just the preparation and dedication to himself and the game. He’s second to none.
I’ve only been the league now… this is my third year; but It’s hard to imagine someone else working harder than him on his body and his game. It’s just a testament to that.”

Furthermore, while some fans may look at an aging player as a liability. Lebron’s fellow teammates see his veteran status a total plus. James’ experience allows him to not only share vital knowledge with younger athletes; but it helps him to find ways to get open and extensively contribute to team success.
Austin Reaves also commented on this aspect after the Lakers took down the Clippers in early November. Reaves and Lebron sent the crowd into hysterics with an insane alley-opp late in the final moments of the game. After the game Reaves discusses the play and Lebron’s longevity one final time. He says,
“You know it’s cool for me because I grew up a basketball fan. And I seen him dunk it like that off a lob a million times. So for me to be able to throw it to him is special. And I have a sense that I can throw it anywhere and he’ll go get it. You know that’s the crazy part with how long he’s been playing.”
What about Lebron though? What are his thoughts. Lakers reporter, Michael Corvo reports that James keeps it simple stating,
“LeBron on his alley-oop with Austin Reaves late in the 4th quarter: ‘Happy I’m still able to go get ‘em. Magic and Kareem created Showtime…trying to keep that going. These fans love the fast break here. Happy to be on the side with AR. One of my favorite guys, for sure.’”
