Las Vegas Raiders Traded Wide Receiver Jakobi Meyers To Jacksonville Jaguars
Prior to the tradeline expiring the Jaguars made a move to improve their offense. The Las Vegas Raiders traded wide receiver Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars announced that they have agreed to terms with the Las Vegas Raiders to trade fourth and sixth-round selections in the 2026 draft in exchange for WR Jakobi Meyers, pending a physical. The Jaguars have two first-round picks, one of which came from the Vikings, and the Raiders will be given the higher of the two picks.
The wide receiver had expressed wanting to be traded and now his wish has been granted. Contract talks had stalled between Meyers and the Raiders so he requested a trade. But the team had not previously shown any interest in granting the request. But apparently the Jaguars came through with the right price for the Raiders to go ahead and make the trade. Meyers is due $10.76 million and is in the final year of his contract this season.
Meyers joined the league as an undrafted free agent in 2019, signing with the New England Patriots. He spent the first four years of his career with the Patriots and the last three have been with the Raiders. Over the course of his seven-year career, Meyers has accumulated 4,944 yards, 426 receptions and 20 touchdowns. Last season the Raiders’ quarterbacks were plagued with injuries and yet Meyers had a career-best season. He posted 87 catches for 1,027 yards and four touchdowns while running routes for three different quarterbacks.
The Jaguars are in need of some help at the wide receiver position. Just last week they had to place first-round pick Travis Hunter on injured reserve. And sophomore receiver Brian Thomas Jr. has had a rough season dealing with shoulder and ankle injuries. And they lost their tight end, Brenton Strange, who suffered a quad injury.

Acquiring Meyers, a WR1, should be a boon to quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Meyers is also a versatile option, being able to play in the slot or on the outside.
With Chip Kelly as the Raiders’ offensive coordinator, Meyers saw his role in the offense diminish. In seven games, he’s produced 33 catches for 352 yards and no scores. Meyers would like to be in a place that is interested in investing in him. Since the Jags gave up two draft picks for him, Jacksonville might just be that place. And the Jags may give him the extension and pay raise he was looking to get from the Raiders.
