Las Vegas Raiders Making Trade with Baltimore Ravens for Defensive End Maxx Crosby
He has spent his entire NFL career with the team whose motto has been commitment to excellence. And thus far he has held up his end of the motto, becoming a fierce defensive player. He has been one of the few bright spots in an organization that has been in decline for a while. Yet now the Las Vegas Raiders are making a trade with the Baltimore Ravens for defensive end Maxx Crosby. It’s rather surprising since last year at this time they signed him to a three-year, $106.5 million deal.
Nevertheless, he will be leaving Las Vegas and ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter provided the details of the trade:
“ESPN sources: the Raiders agreed to trade five-time Pro-Bowl DE Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for 2026 and 2027 first-round picks. The trade cannot be processed until next week, but it is in place. And Crosby is expected to be a Raven with two 1s back to Vegas.”
With this trade the Baltimore Ravens committed a first, according to ESPN’s Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley. He writes, “For the first time in the Ravens’ 31-year history, the franchise will use a first-round pick to trade for a player. Baltimore acquires Maxx Crosby after a season in which it recorded its fewest sacks in 15 years.”
Clearly the Ravens needed the powerful, playmaking Crosby on their team. He will join the Ravens defense which includes Kyle Hamilton, Roquan Smith, Nnandi Madubuike and Nate Williams. Known as a guy who gets after a quarterback, he brings 360 career pressures since 2019 to the Ravens. The next closest guy, Myles Garrett, is short by 29 pressures. Now both Crosby and Garrett are free to terrorize the offenses of the AFC North.

While all of this is good news for the Ravens, the Raiders are also getting a good deal. The Raiders are now among five teams that have two first round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. The other four teams are the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys. The trick for the Raiders will be to use those picks wisely. More than likely they will be using the first pick of the first round on Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Fernando Mendoza from Indiana University.
As for Crosby he conducted an interview about the trade. He noted that he leaves feeling like he let everyone down, adding that he wanted to build a winner with the team. But he intends to give everything in his heart and soul to bring a championship to Baltimore. You can check out his video here to hear all of his thoughts.
Congratulations Maxx, we hope you do great things in Baltimore!
