Landon Dickerson Went Down In Practice Was Carted Off With A Leg Injury
He is a big part of the Eagle’s offensive line as the left guard. So it was scary to see that Landon Dickerson went down in practice and was carted off with a leg injury. At the time he was carted off he wasn’t able to put any weight on his leg. But the good news is that it wasn’t an ACL injury or a torn Achilles. Either of which would have ended his season. However, he is expected to undergo an MRI today on his knee.
It was a routine snap two hours into the practice when Dickerson was hurt. He had missed practice a day earlier with what was listed as a knee injury, but he returned on Sunday. When he went down the 50,000 fans in attendance went silent as Dickerson stayed on the ground for several minutes.
According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter:
“Eagles Pro-Bowl guard Landon Dickerson is thought to have suffered a meniscus injury to his right knee, per sources. Dickerson is getting additional options to determine the next course of action and how long he might be sidelined.”
But as reported by NBC Sports Philadelphia:
“Depending on the severity of the injury, Dickerson could potentially return to action in as little as four to six weeks, but if he needs a full repair he could miss three to six months.”
Dickerson experienced many injuries in college that kept him out of the first round. He was taken with the 37th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He had suffered a season-ending torn ACL in his right knee while playing for Florida State in the fall of 2016. A season-ending ankle injury in 2017 and then a left ankle sprain in 2018. He tore his left ACL playing for Alabama in 2020.

However, Dickerson has had much success with the Eagles. Dickerson, 26, is the only offensive lineman in Eagles history to make three Pro Bowls in his first four seasons. And one of just nine Eagles at any position to do that. A list that includes Hall of Famers Chuck Bednarik, Tommy McDonald and Reggie White. Dickerson finished third in all-pro voting last year, trailing only Joe Thuney of the Chiefs and Quenton Nelson of the Colts. He finished fourth in 2022 and fifth in 2023.
As Dickerson weighs his medical options, the Eagles will likely start Matt Pryor, possibly at right guard with Tyler Steen moving to left guard. In the meantime, we wish a speedy recovery to Landon!
