Lakers Win the NBA’s First Ever In-Season Tournament Defeating the Pacers
It is year 21 for the King, Lebron James; and Bron and the Lakers are continuing to find new ways in order to bring more trophies to LA’s champion legacy. In a battle with the Pacers, the Los Angeles Lakers win the NBA’s first ever In-Season Tournament at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Taking down Indiana with a final score of 109-123.
Lebron was… well, typical Lebron. The incomparable James and Anthony Davis combined for 65 points; and at the half, the Lakers led the Pacers 65-58. James would finish the night with 24 points and 11 rebounds and with the tournament’s MVP honors.
Nevertheless, this is not to say that other purple and gold teammates did not contribute to the Lakers tourney success. They did. For instance, Anthony Davis was lights outs, putting up an impressive 41 points and 20 rebounds.
Additionally, Austin Reaves also got into the mix adding 28 points to the scoreboard. Moreover, Reaves did his thing despite being under the weather. Nonetheless, Austin fought through it and helped contribute towards his team getting the prize.
Speaking of prizes… what exactly do the winners and even losing opponents receive from this in-season tournament? Well, let’s just say it is well worth the effort to be playing in this new fan favorite event; and even the knockout stages. The winning team will receive a new trophy, called the NBA Cup. Plus, of course, hard cold cash. Moreover, the league also includes a prize pool that will be allocated to teams that advance to the knockout stages.
Every player on the roster of the champion; or winner of the in-season tournament will receive a $500K bonus. Nevertheless, even if you lose, life is still all good. If a team gets all the way to the champion game and loses; there’s still a $200K bonus waiting for them. Also, NBA players get $100K for reaching the semifinals, and $50K for reaching the quarterfinals.

“Wow. Congrats to [the] Lakers and King James. In season tournament dope.
How in the world did I miss out on this? Not fair at all. Lol
