Klay Thompson Has Signed a Lifetime Deal With ANTA

One half of the Splash Brothers is making a splash yet again in the sneaker game. He’s had much success with one partnership for years; and now they want to lock him in for good. On Friday, it was announced that NBA star Klay Thompson has officially signed a lifetime deal with ANTA.

ANTA is a major player in the sportswear realm; often coming in (in terms of sales and impact) right behind Nike and Adidas. It is a company that was founded in 1991 in Jinjiang, Fujian, China, by Ding Shizhong. Originally starting off as just a footwear manufacturer; however, it later evolved into a major sportswear brand, gaining significant market share in China before expanding globally.

Nevertheless, when you sell million of shoes you tend to earn millions of more dollars. Klay has sold more than 10 million pairs of shoes with ANTA; and his first shoe retailed for $90-$100. Do the math and you can see why Thompson more than earned this new deal.

Nick DePaula, who covers the footwear industry and NBA, WNBA and NIL marketing; broke the news on Klay stating,

“BREAKING: Klay Thompson has signed a Lifetime Deal with ANTA.

After selling more than 10 Million “KT” sneakers during their 12-year long partnership to date, Thompson & ANTA are now locked in to a new long-term legacy deal that will extend beyond his playing career.”

Thompson talked to the media at the opening launch of the ANTA Beverly Hills flagship. He was open as to why he was happy to sign his lifetime contract with the brand and why him signing with ANTA back in the day made perfect sense. Klay mentioned,

“ANTA was taking a chance on me, and I was taking a chance on them. It was a match made in heaven,” Klay Thompson said after a decade with the brand. “When I started wearing ANTA, my career just took off. I was able to break some records, win some championships, play in All-Star Games and Olympic gold medal games.

I’m so grateful for their backing, and it’s inspired me to keep going,” continued Klay. “My time in Asia, the Philippines, and all over the world has been so special. To grow the game and see the fans is something I don’t take for granted and will cherish for the rest of my life.”

ANTA is a brand that shows no signs of slowing down. With Klay and now with expansion. ANTA has thousands of stores overseas, but they have now opened their first store in the US and it’s in Beverly Hills. Huge congratulations to Klay.
