Kiyan Anthony with dad Carmelo Anthony During Official Syracuse Visit- Lightening Strikes Twice?

Like father, like son. All proud fathers love seeing their kids follow in their footsteps. And while nothing is set in stone just yet; this latest visit by the Carmelo family could very much point to the future. What’s going on? Well, just Kiyan Anthony with dad Carmelo Anthony During Official Syracuse Visit.

Now first of all, don’t go getting all nostalgic so quickly. This is just an official visit for young Kiyan. However, as we all know being invited is still very cool for a high school baller figuring out where to commit to and play.

Official visits are normally funded by the school who is hosting the prospective student-athlete and his family. Also, this gives a recruit an opportunity to see a college campus in person. Plus, being invited also signifies that normally someone really wants you there; like for instance, the coach might be very interested. Therefore, all positives.

Furthermore, Kiyan and his parentals, Lala as well as Syracuse legend; Carmelo Anthony were all in attendance for this occasion. By many pics from the day, his parents seem absolutely thrilled. However, the final decision will come down to what Kiyan feels is the best situation for himself.

And this is a very big consideration. Not a light one in anyway. Every recruit wants to get into a good program, in order to help them develop and succeed. Even hopefully receiving enough knowledge, training, experience and grooming to make it to the PROs.

Moreover, if Kiyan is thinking following his father’s path and going to Syracuse… well… that could make things even tougher. Carmelo’s shoes are tough to fill. Syracuse worships Melo, and not with any blindness.

Carmelo during his freshman year helped lead Syracuse to a championship back in 2003. Becoming Syracuse’s first NCAA Championship in their history. Straight iconic.

Furthermore, Melo’s time in the NBA is just as astounding. The third pick of the 2003 draft, while playing for Denver, Carmelo leads the Nuggets to the playoffs every year from 2004 to 2010; resulting in 2 division titles. Despite never winning a ring, Melo puts up Hall of Fame numbers, averaging 22.5 points per game; (24.8 with Denver).

We’re not saying Kiyan will not come to be as good as his daddy. However, just pointing out, that it’s a tough act to follow. Nevertheless, that’s just a given with a dad that’s highly recognized in college and the NBA. Yet, we are sure that Kiyan is definitely putting in work and “learning from the best.”
