It looks like the Royals are taking a page from the Kansas City Chiefs. Win during the postseason. The Royals have had a great year, finishing the regular season with a record of 86-76, all while beating the odds. After battling Baltimore in a tough game two of the wild card series, the Kansas City Royals proudly win their first postseason series since 2015 while sweeping the Baltimore Orioles.
This series was truly hard fought. Both teams gave it all they had. They were low scoring games but still could feel plenty of intensity.
Nevertheless, what’s even more interesting; over the course of two games, it only took the Royals three runs to eliminate the Orioles and move on to the next round. Kansas City won game one 1-0, and game 2, 2-1.
But it doesn’t matter how you win. You just have to get the job done. And the Royals were able to do that and get a “monkey” off their back at the same time.
It had been almost a decade since the baseball organization had won a playoff series. The last time was in 2015 when they won it all. But on Wednesday the Royals ended the drought. And now are going to the American League Division Series.

Therefore, who will the Royals be tested against next? They will now face off against the New York Yankees in a best of five series. A ball club that possesses power hitters Aaron Judge and Juan Soto who are ready to cause some damage. The two teams will begin their division war on Saturday.
Nonetheless, Kansas City and New York actually have a long history with each other. They have traded quite a few blows to each other back in the day. For instance, New York beat Kansas City in the 1976, ’77 and ’78 AL Championship Series before George Brett and the Royals returned the favor in 1980. Therefore, which team will get this year’s bragging rights? Well, we will all just have to tune in beginning on Saturday to find out.
