JuJu Watkins Hit Most Single Game 3-Pointers in USC Women’s Basketball History!
She continues to be HER. Once again already this University of Southern California baller is tacking on to her growing legacy and placing her name throughout multiple pages of the history books. On Tuesday, JuJu Watkins hit the most single game 3-pointers in USC Women’s Basketball history!
And USC didn’t just win the game. They straight up demolished the competition. Leaving no crumbs. During Tuesday night’s blowout 94–52 win over California Baptist, Watkins drained not one, not three or five, but NINE three-pointers, which is now the most made in a single game by any USC women’s basketball player ever in school history.
JuJu Watkins hit 9 3’s out of 11 attempts. She actually had the record all sown up when making her eighth three-pointer; but she said hold up everybody I’m not done yet! JuJu took it a step further and made one more. She finished the game with 40 points, six rebounds and three blocks.
And just in case you are wondering, because we know you are thinking it. How does this stack up with the men? Well, the USC men’s basketball record is 10 made in a single game, and Watkins could easily break that in the future. She came very close to tying it.
But scoring is second nature to this talented young star. Last season, as a freshman Watkins made major waves in the college hoops realm. She became the all-time leading scorer among freshmen in NCAA Division I women’s basketball history, scoring 920 points to surpass a record that had stood since the 1983-84 season (898 by San Diego State’s Tina Hutchinson).
Nevertheless, one final thought on JuJu and her insane scoring capabilities and achievements. This latest historic performance comes just a couple weeks after Watkins reached 1,000 career points as a sophomore. It took her just 38 games to reach this mark, which is the fourth fewest games in NCAA Division I women’s basketball history. Currently, Watkins is averaging 23.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game so far this season.

So then congratulations are in order for Miss Watkins, she sure is entertaining to watch. And her exciting gameplay is attracting a lot of sponsorship opportunities. Recently, JuJu signed a deal with State Farm. But before that she also secured a major contract extension with Nike. Watkins had signed with Nike back in high school but the shoe giant immediately got to work on extending her this year. According to Shams Charania,
“USC sophomore star JuJu Watkins agreed to a multiyear contract extension with Nike that will give her one of the richest shoe endorsement deals in women’s basketball. Watkins, who was voted as the Associated Press’ Preseason Player of the Year heading into this season, led the Trojans to the Elite Eight last season — the school’s deepest NCAA tournament run in three decades. She finished second in the country to Caitlin Clark in scoring at 27.1 points per game.”
Therefore, on and off the court, Watkins is winning. She is racking up the points and securing her own very large a bag. It’s thrilling to see JuJu in action and we can’t wait to see what she does next.
