Joe Burrow in Last 5 Games Did Something No Other QB Has in NFL History
Football is a professional sport that has been going on for some time. For this very reason it can feel like we have seen it all. Yet, there always seems to be a player that marches in and sets a new bar. The latest quarterback to do so is Cincinnati’s franchise star. On Monday night a new milestone was reached and the Bengals’ Joe Burrow in his last 5 games has now done something no other QB has in NFL History.
We won’t hold you in suspense further, here’s what he did. According to OptaStats Joe has been THAT guy. They reveal,
“In each of his last 5 games, the Bengals’ Joe Burrow has:
– completed 25+ passes
– thrown for 250+ yards
– thrown 3+ TD passes
– had no more than 1 INT
No other QB in NFL history has done that in more than 3 consecutive games.”
Amazing. So Joe is majorly proficient and this accomplishment also demonstrates his resilience. Cincinnati’s season did not get off to a good start and it has been struggling. The team found itself losing close games in the tiniest of ways. However, Burrow did not allow such challenges to affect his focus and he continues to keep fighting hard.
Although, the team’s record isn’t showing it, Burrows’ own stats show that he is putting in that work. Since November, his stats have looked like this:
251 YDS, 5 TD, 1 INT
428 YDS, 4 TD, 0 INT
356 YDS, 3 TD, 0 INT
309 YDS, 3 TD, 1 INT
369 YDS, 3 TD, 1 INT
So the guy is clearly out there on the field dealing. And he will battle to the bitter end for the Bengals; giving each matchup all he has for 60 minutes. Even during the Monday Night Football game versus the Dallas Cowboys, Burrows appeared to injure his left knee. But after he mentioned in his presser that he felt good and then he added,
“We’ll see what it feels like tomorrow. [But] there’s never a thought to go out. This isn’t anything to keep [me] out of a game.”

Hardcore. That mindset has him looking pretty impressive this season. Burrow is currently first in the NFL in touchdowns, second in QBR (74.2) and third in passing yards. Additionally, he is currently 302-446 through the air for 3,337 yards, 30 touchdowns and five interceptions. He is completing 67.7% of his passes.
The Bengals are sitting at 5-8. But hope to keep their extremely slim playoff hopes alive. It would take an absolute miracle; but if Cincinnati makes it, it would be deserved icing on a cake for Joe who has been so hardworking all season.
