Jason Kelce Will Join Monday Night Countdown and Cover Super Bowl LXI!

How is retirement? Well, for one of the Kelce brothers it is going quite well and kinda coming to an end already. The former Eagle is not letting any grass grow under his feet is already booking work for next season and beyond. ESPN is reporting that Jason Kelce will join Monday Night Countdown and will eventually also have Super Bowl duties.

This move is right up Kelce’s alley. He’s already in possession of the “chops” necessary to successfully carry a broadcasting segment. Thanks in large to his wildly popular New Heights podcast with his brother, Travis Kelce.

The podcast has experienced very steady growth. Within 5 months of its launch it accumulated 500,000 YouTube subscribers, 625,000 TikTok followers, 101,000 Twitter followers, and 272,000 followers on Instagram. On these platforms it racked up over 250 million views. Plus, it is now valued at $100 million, has won an iHeart Award. And last football season it consistently was a top-ranked podcast for sports and overall on major podcast services like Spotify and Apple Podcasts, reaching the #1 spot several times throughout the season.

Therefore, not only is Jason very qualified for the job. But, he may be even bringing new eyes or fans to start watching Monday Night Countdown; or to begin watching it again. Jason always has great stories and insights when it comes to football. So then, fans are probably going to really enjoy him as an addition to the ESPN network squad.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter helps to herald the news of Kelce joining the sports network’s family via the X social media platform. Schefter reveals,

“ESPN officially has signed former Eagles standout Jason Kelce to a multi-year deal. Kelce will join Monday Night Countdown, leading into Monday Night Football, then appear again at halftime. He will be a part of ESPN and ABC’s coverage of Super Bowl LXI in Los Angeles in 2027.”

Furthermore, Jason himself is thrilled to be joining the team and back to work. Regarding being a part of Monday Night Countdown he states,

“Turns out, it was a short retirement! I’m excited to join ESPN, and particularly the Monday Night Countdown team. ESPN was a consistent presence in our household growing up and the network helped shape who I am and my love of all sports. To now appear on that same screen is a full circle moment. And, I mean it’s freaking Monday Night Football! and I’m ready for some football.”

We’re all ready for some football too. Fall can’t get here fast enough. And we can’t wait to see Jason as an analyst.

Remember that the 13-year NFL veteran will join Monday Night Countdown each week (6 – 8 p.m. ET), leading into Monday Night Football throughout the regular season and ESPN’s Super Wild Card and Divisional Round playoff games. Additionally, each Monday Night Football and ESPN playoff game, Kelce will join Scott Van Pelt and Ryan Clark during halftime. Shall be fun!
