Jakobi Meyers And Jacksonville Jaguars Agreed To Three-Year $60 Million Extension

Another potential free agent has been snapped up. One week ago today, the Baltimore Ravens signed defensive player Travis Jones, preventing him from hitting the free agent market. Now the news is that Jakobi Meyers and the Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to a three-year $60 million extension. According to NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the extension includes $40 million guaranteed.

Meyers has not been with the Jaguars for very long, but it was long enough for them to determine that they want to keep him on their roster.

In early November Meyers was traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags traded for him prior to the deadline, on Nov. 4 for a fourth- and sixth-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft. Initially, Meyers was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New England Patriots in 2019. Meyers was with the Patriots through the 2022 season at which time he was the team’s leading receiver with 67 catches for 804 yards and six touchdowns. That no doubt led to Meyers signing with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023 a three-year, $33 million contract.

While with the Raiders Meyers had good production as a wide receiver. In the 2023 season, Meyers had 71 receptions for 807 yards and eight touchdowns. And in the 2024 season, he had 87 receptions for 1,027 yards and four touchdowns. Nevertheless, in spite of ongoing contract negotiations, Meyers on August 25, 2025, requested a trade from the Raiders. But the Raiders response was a no so Meyers rescinded his trade request. However, at the trade deadline the Raiders did in fact trade Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Now the Jaguars have extended him, keeping him in Jacksonville for the next three years. Or at least through the 2028 season.

For an undrafted free agent, Meyers has snagged a couple of big deals for himself. And he’s shown that he can be a winner. Meyers,He is a 29 year-old 7-year NFL veteran and has caught 27 passes for 355 yards and 3 touchdowns in 6 games since the trade. The Jaguars are 5-1 during that span. Overall he has has 453 career receptions for 5,299 yards and 23 touchdowns. Meyers has caught 453 passes for 5,299 yards (11.7 average) and 23 TDs in 104 games (80 starts) with the Patriots, Raiders and Jaguars.

Clearly trading for Meyers has been a good thing for the Jaguars. And with quarterback Trevor Lawrence playing like the Viking he is, the Jags are looking to make some noise this post season. So we congratulate Jakobi Meyers on his new extension and wish him all the success in Jacksonville!
