Is the Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn heading to the Chargers or Seahawks as their next head coach? Several insiders seem to think that one of these two franchises could be a next landing spot for Quinn. Nevertheless, what evidence seems to be indicators?
As we know, the Seahawks parted with Pete Carroll and are now in search of a new head coach. Additionally, Dan Quinn already possesses history with Seattle. Dan was the DC for a dominant Seahawk defense (think Legion of Boom era); that eventually won a Super Bowl. Therefore, he could very well be the right “spark” as well as the right head coach for Seattle.
Ian Rapoport, an insider for NFL Network agrees that Quinn is a fit for the Seahawks. Ian states,
“The Cowboys DC Dan Quinn would quickly be considered a STRONG CANDIDATE to replace Pete Carroll, who now exits as HC.”

However, what about the Chargers? Could Quinn head to socal? One radio personality for ESPN seems to strongly believe in this particular scenario.
According to Scott Kaplan of Kaplan and Crew, a friend of Dan Quinn called Kaplan asking him to make a connection for Dan Quinn in the Chargers organization. During his show, Kaplan recounts,
“I got a call from a guy last week. Someone very very close to Dan Quinn. One of his close buddies who lives in San Diego.
He said “Do you have relationships with the Chargers? … because Dan Quinn really really wants THAT job.”
If that story sounds a little far-fetched; the truth is, Quinn may not even need Kaplan’s connections. According to Sports Illustrated, the Chargers are taking matters into their own hands. SI reports,
Having said all of that … speculation that his feet (Dan Quinn) could end up in Los Angeles is logical enough. And indeed, as of Tuesday, the Chargers have joined the Commanders and the Panthers in requesting an interview with the coach.”
It’s certainly believable that Quinn would be interested in the LA Chargers since they have great facilities and a great young quarterback. There’s something to build with for the future. Nevertheless, Quinn will be a heavily sought after candidate and no matter where he lands he’s sure to make an impact.
