Injury Update For Dak Prescott And Other Dallas Cowboys

He left the game against the Atlanta Falcons yesterday and did not return. It was evident that something happened to him at the end of a play. Today there has been an injury update for Dak Prescott and some other Dallas Cowboys players. Prescott is expected to miss several weeks with a hamstring injury. But initially it looked as if he left the game due to an injury to his hand. Cameras showed him on the sideline having his hand looked at as it was bleeding. However, it was at the end of a play where Prescott had been scrambling around that he appeared to limp a little. When asked about what happened, Prescott said:

“I felt it when I was getting up from the run. I can’t even say I felt it running. Maybe it was the tackle or something on the tackle. When I was standing up from that, I felt something, but didn’t think it was much. It was a physical game and, a lot of times, you feel different things and then they go away. As I said, when I got to the top of my drop to throw that drop to Jalen Brooks on the right side, I felt something I’ve never felt.

“It was tough to go on after that point.”

According to the team’s website:

Prescott, however, is expected to blow right past the injury report and directly to injured reserve — contingent upon a second opinion to an initial prognosis that he will miss what could ultimately end up being significant time.

The Cowboys are hoping that the news for CeeDee Lamb will be better. He too left the game yesterday but did return later. Lamb has at least a remote chance of taking the field when the Philadelphia Eagles fly into AT&T Stadium, but the sprained AC joint in his shoulder will make it difficult to do so.

But there is some good news for the Cowboys as the 21-day practice window for Brandin Cooks can be activated as early as this coming Wednesday. The veteran wideout has missed four games on injured reserve with a knee injury.

And Adam Schefter reported on the status of Micah Parsons:

While Dak Prescott is expected to be sidelined for Sunday’s game vs. the Eagles, the Cowboys could be getting back DE Micah Parsons from his high ankle sprain. One source said Parsons “should be back” for Sunday’s game vs. the Eagles.
So there’s a lot going on down in Big D. It will be interesting to see what the team they field on Sunday will look like.
