Indiana Pacers Clinch a Top Four Seed With Win Over Cavs—Set NBA Record
LOCKING THINGS UP. They are feeling good, playing well and are enjoying a six game win streak. And things just got even better. The Indiana Pacers have clinched a top four seed with a win over the Cavs; all while setting a NBA record. Additionally, it is their first time having home-court advantage since the 2013-14 season, when they were the 1-seed. Furthermore, the Pacers are also now 49-31 after beating Cleveland, 114-112, their most wins in a season since 2013-14.
Awesome. So Indiana has put themselves in a good spot playoff wise; and they are doing it in historic fashion. According to Pacers PR,
“100+ points in 107 straight games at Gainbridge Field House. We have set a new NBA record with 107 consecutive games with 100+ points at home, breaking the Spurs record set between 1978-1981.”
As one can see, the team is rolling and part of the success is due to the efforts of Tyrese Haliburton. Tyrese led Indiana with 23 points in Thursday’s victory. Along with 10 assists, eight rebounds and three blocks while making four 3-pointers. He works hard, plays hard and has goals for himself and the team. Truly, Haliburton is living up to his word as a Pacer; and it’s been especially refreshing to see him bounce back after a scary hamstring injury in 2024.
Nonetheless, you may recall that back in 2022, Tyrese was asked what he brings to the organization. He said,
“I feel like I was brought in to be a part of the core of this Pacers team going forward, and to work like hell until this team is back where it’s accustomed to being.
I take that mission very seriously. It’s a lot of responsibility, for sure — but that level of responsibility is what I crave. It’s something I’ve worked my entire life for. I’m ready to step up.
I’m coming to Indiana to leave my imprint, and to help this team do something special. I’m coming here to create a legacy that makes Pacers fans proud.
I’m coming here to be the best version of Tyrese Haliburton.”

Well, that version is definitely what Pacers fans are being blessed with this season. And they will get to see how their team fares in the postseason. Indiana will host a first-round playoff series at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
However, they still have a little business to take care during these final hours of the regular season. The Pacers are also one win away from their first 50-win season since 2013-14. So tune in to watch them against the Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers to see if they can get it done.
