Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark Suffered Quad Strain Injury—Out For Two Weeks Minimum
The WNBA continues to make waves this season with sold out arenas and great broadcasting viewership. However, the league’s biggest star is going to be MIA for a short while. The Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark has suffered a quad strain injury and will be out for a minimum of two weeks. After 14 days she will be reevaluated.
Clark is a player who has stayed pretty much healthy. Other than one preseason game, Clark has not missed a game since 2017. Quite a feat in a sport that is known to be quite physical.
Nevertheless, on Monday the Fever organization confirmed that Caitlin Clark has a quad strain from the Liberty game. Furthermore, the MRI also confirmed that this latest situation is not related to Caitlin’s preseason injury. Clark had missed a preseason game not too long ago due to a left leg injury that she considered to be “just a little tightness” at the time.
However, there is still a bit of mystery surrounding this latest incident with Caitlin. There’s no clear indication when her injury actually occurred. Reporter Alexa Phillippou revealed, “Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White said she isn’t sure when the injury happened, but that Caitlin Clark reported some pain in her leg after the team’s loss to the New York Liberty Saturday, consequently getting an MRI and receiving a diagnosis of a quad strain.”

During the recent matchup against New York; Caitlin had taken a pretty bad fall after being blocked by Breanna Stewart right under the hoop. However, Caitlin seemed to get right back up just fine and finish the game.
Nonetheless, Clark’s coach is confident that Caitlin will bounce back from this injury. And be back to her usual form and routine soon. Especially, with how the Fever franchise has been handling this quad strain. Stephanie White told the press, “Obviously, [Caitlin Clark is] a competitor and wants to play. Obviously, everyone wants to watch her play. But for me … it’s making sure that we address this in a way that doesn’t affect long term.”
