Huge AFC North Battle Raged Between Steelers And Ravens
It is always a black and blue kind of game between the two division rivals. There is no love lost between them as they beat each other to a pulp. Russell Wilson and Lamar Jackson were prepared to lead their teams into battle as they fought for division supremacy. Therefore it was no surprise that a huge AFC North battle raged between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens.
The Ravens got the ball first and had some nice runs from Derrick Henry. After getting a couple first downs Jackson was sacked for nine yards and then had an incomplete pass and had to punt. Pittsburgh then had a quick three and out. Derrick Henry ripped off four rushes and then Jackson hit Isaiah Likely for a nine-yard touchdown. But the Steelers came right back with a 12 play, 73 yard touchdown drive and tied the score at 7. The Ravens picked up a first down but a false start penalty and two incomplete passes forced them to punt.
With a pass and three rushes the Steelers quickly got down the field. Wilson had no one open and scrambled down the field. It looked like he was going to score until Ar’Darius Washington came from out of nowhere and punched the ball out. Kyle Van Noy recovered it and the Ravens marched 81 yards for the touchdown. Wilson was sacked on 3rd & 5 at PIT 35 on their next possession and punted again. The Ravens were then held to a 51-yard field goal as Pittsburgh’s defense disrupted the passing game just enough. Before the half the Steelers also kicked a 51-yard field goal. The halftime score was 10-17, Ravens.

Both teams had to punt on their opening third quarter drives. But things got spicy after that as both teams scored touchdowns. Then the Steelers went for it on 4th & 6 at BAL 45. But Wilson couldn’t connect with Calvin Austin on a deep pass. Jackson then tried to connect with Rashod Bateman and was intercepted. But after a three-yard Najee Harris run, Wilson was then neatly intercepted by Marlon Humphrey who ran it back for a 37-yard touchdown.
After that Pittsburgh’s offense just couldn’t get anything going. The Ravens kicked a 23-yard field goal to seal their 17-34 victory. They also clinched a playoff spot, the sixth time they’ve done that in the last seven seasons. They are currently the 5th seed in the playoffs and the Steelers are the 3rd seed. I just love AFC North games.
