This Charlotte rookie continues to make a strong impression on the court and a strong case for Rookie of the Year. Since his debut he’s been knocking down threes left and right. And now he has made NBA history. The Hornets Kon Knueppel is now the fastest player in NBA History to reach 200 threes.
Kon hit this astounding mark during a recent matchup versus the Chicago Bulls. The Hornets crushed the Bulls, not even allowing Chicago to put up 100 points after four quarters. Kon and company defeated them, 131-99. And in the process Knueppel reached 200 three pointers. Getting there in just 58 games… thus, making him the fastest player to reach that mark in NBA history.
Furthermore, this rising superstar is just a game or two away from placing his name again within the pages of NBA history books and tacking onto his rookie basketball legacy. Kon Knueppel is only 9 threes away from breaking the rookie record for the most 3PM in a season. With over twenty games left in the season, he’s got plenty of time to reach this milestone. And by the look of his play and on court performances; he will.
The Charlotte Hornets are definitely thrilled with how well Knueppel is developing and producing this season. Knueppel was selected with the 4th overall pick by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2025 NBA Draft. Nonetheless, the franchise excitedly took to social media in order to praise their rookie’s newest accomplishment. The Hornets mention,

With their statement victory over the Bulls, the Hornets set a franchise record with their 8th straight road win. The teams already battled each other (and it was a GOOD game) at the end of January, but during that meetup the Hornets edged out San Antonio for the win.
