Gearing Up For Week 2 of the NFL Season
Now that week 1 is done, we can start gearing up for Week 2 of the NFL Season. The week starts with the Thursday night contest between the Vikings and Eagles. The Vikings lost a close one to the Buccaneers last week 20-17. It probably didn’t help that Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield said he knew all the Vikings’ signals. Regardless of that, Vikings QB Kirk Cousins is going to have to clean up his play. Throwing for a bunch of yards is not helpful when turning the ball over three times. The Eagles are coming off a 25-20 victory over the Patriots so will want to keep their momentum going.
I’ll be looking to see if the Raiders, Packers, and Jets can continue winning. The Raiders will be slugging it out with the Bills. The Bills will need to play better offensively if they want to win. Josh Allen will have to protect the ball by eliminating the turnovers he had last week. As for the Jets, the defense played well but again they are a team in poor offensive shape. The loss of Aaron Rodgers was felt immediately. They will need to shore up that position if they want to keep winning. The Packers beat the Bears 38-20 and I think they will win against the Falcons this week. Like many other teams, the Falcons QB situation is unknown. Whether Desmond Ridder is a franchise quarterback remains to be seen.
In other news, it is yet to be determined if Travis Kelce will be back on the field this week. It will likely be a game time decision. The Jaguars will probably try to game plan for if he plays or if he doesn’t play. It’s better to be prepared either way.
Gearing Up For Week 2 of the NFL season
The Dolphins vs. Patriots game could be a good match up if Patriots QB Mac Jones can play as well as he did during the middle portion of last week’s game. The Patriots defense was stout and if the offense can get things going they will give the Dolphins trouble. On the other hand the Dolphins scored at will last week so the Patriots defense will have their hands full.
I’m also interested in seeing if the Steelers will play better this week. They didn’t seem to have much fight last week. The Browns played well and shut down the Bengals. I expect they will do the same to the Steelers. At any rate there should be some good games this week. And some crazy games too. Because there is always some drama with the NFL and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
