Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix Qualifying Results: Leclerc Takes Pole
The Grand Prix in Vegas is not only attracting formula one fans; but brand new fans who are interested in learning about and taking in the exciting sporting event. Tonight, we inch just a little closer to the moment everyone is looking forward to seeing. The battle between all the drivers. However, right now we have the Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix qualifying results; and fan favorite Leclerc takes pole position.
So far, we are loving seeing the iconic Las Vegas strip as the backdrop for the F1 Grand Prix. The lights are flashing. The streets as well as the famous hotels are a visually feast. Furthermore, it almost feels like you are gaming with your controller, gazing upon insane graphics.
Obviously, this is the exact reason why the powers that be chose Vegas as the event’s location. Something new to excite, enthrall and captivate. And it’s a darn good choice!
Nevertheless, getting to what’s really important… Ferrari right now is in full domination mode during qualifying. In an event like this every millisecond counts. Tonight, Leclerc takes his 23rd pole; and was quicker by just 0.044 seconds than team-mate Carlos Sainz; who has a 10-place grid penalty, and therefore will start 12th. Moreover, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen – who was third fastest, with 0.378secs off top spot – will start alongside Leclerc.
Now if this is your first time getting into Formula One racing you might be wondering; what is pole position? No worries. We understand there’s a lot of jargon to pick up. Basically, the driver on pole position is the one who set the fastest lap time during qualifying. Simple as that.
Furthermore, some drivers may adjust and get comfortable with the driving path quicker. So qualifying times may better. Others just don’t like the track period. For instance, regarding Vegas Verstappen states,
“I am not a big fan of street circuits. But out there when you are pushing on the limit it is exciting. It is very low grip, a bit like Baku.
I just don’t really enjoy that. You are always limited with the sliding. But it is very exciting what they have built, it looks incredible.”

We have to agree with Max, the vibes are incredible. However, how does the man of the hour, Charles Leclerc feel about his performance in qualifying? Charles says,
“I am of course happy. For first [race] in Las Vegas, it is an incredible event and to be starting from pole is great.
“But I am a bit disappointed with my laps in Q3. I didn’t do a good enough job but it was enough to do the pole.
“Now we have to see how we do in the race, normally that’s where we struggle.”
Awesome guy. We always love Charles’ humility and ability to objectively look at his race. And he’s right. There is room for improvement, but it’s still going to be a wild good time to see him, Max and Lewis Hamilton in action!
