Also, there’s not too many mega stars on the field. The Marinos, Bradys, Namaths, Mannings, Montanas, Elways, Aikens, Staubachs; Rices, Allens, “The Fridge,” Shockeys and Urlachers are long gone. There’s some notable names in today’s game, but not enough to move the dial.

The Brady and Manning era was one for the books. It was like the mini Super Bowl during the season, a real duke it out nail-biter.
Since the days of two, matches like that are just far and in-between. But now, we have two talented quarterbacks that are bringing back the love of a good all out battle rivalry!
And it’s showing in the stats. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports,
“ESPN’s presentation of the Super Bowl LVII rematch between the Eagles and Chiefs is the most-watched Monday Night Football game in 27 years, drawing more than 29 million viewers (ESPN, ABC, ESPN2, ESPN+, ESPN Deportes and NFL+). The audience of 29,021,000 viewers is the television franchise’s best – and The Walt Disney Company’s best – since the Green Bay at Dallas game in 1996, when 31.5 million watched. The new mark spans more than 450 games and the entire ESPN era of Monday Night Football.”
Amazing. This is the way! You don’t need a cute relationship to bring in the crowds (but if it produces more Kelce dancing, ok fine lol); just some good old football matchups.
