When you are a champion, you go pay a visit to Mickey. It’s tradition. And that’s exactly what Philadelphia’s superstar quarterback did less than 24 hours after hoisting the Lombardi Trophy. Yes it’s true, the Eagles Jalen Hurts goes to Disney World after winning Super Bowl LIX.
And Disney was more than happy to have the champion in their midst. They rolled out the red carpet for Hurts. Having the MVP QB even take part in a festive celebratory parade. As People magazine revealed,
“Jalen Hurts observed the decades-long tradition of winners celebrating their victory at Disney World on Monday, Feb. 10 — just one day after Sunday’s championship game.
The festive parade saw the 26-year-old quarterback — along with Mickey — waving to fans lining the streets of the Happiest Place on Earth. In one video clip posted to X, the crowd shouted, ‘M-V-P,’ as the player went by.”
Later on, Jalen and his fiancée Bryonna “Bry” Burrows were spotted enjoying rides. One attraction in particular that fans lined up to catch a glimpse of the MVP was on Tron Lightcycle Power Run. Several videos emerged online showing Bry and Jalen happily enjoying themselves as they whizzed on by. Disney also shared a few photos and videos via their social media accounts and channels.
Now some of us may not remember how this awesome Disney World visit tradition got its start. Others of us were not even alive. Nevertheless, due to Jalen Hurts visit; Walt Disney shared details regarding their rich history with football’s greats. The iconic company states,
“As the confetti fell and joy filled the air at the Caesars Superdome on Sunday night, Hurts shouted the famous words we all love – ‘I’m Going to Disney World!’’
Hurts is the second Eagles player to celebrate an NFL championship at a Disney Park. The tradition started back in 1987 with New York Giants quarterback Phil Simms being the first to say “I’m Going to Disney World” after winning the Super Bowl. Over the years, many of the game’s greatest players have followed in those footsteps.”
