Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill Suffered Gruesome Knee Injury Out For Season

He was having a productive night after having been criticized for not being the dynamic wide receiver we have all come to know and expect. It should have been a night for celebrating as the Dolphins came away with their first win of the season over the division rival Jets. But unfortunately, the Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill suffered a gruesome knee injury and will be out for the rest of the season. And it was more than just a simple knee injury.

Reporting on the details. Adam Schefter posted what happened on x.com. He wrote:

“In addition to dislocating his knee, Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill also tore multiple ligaments in his knee, including his ACL, per sources. Hill remains hospitalized and will undergo surgery today.”

Hours later Schefter further reported on the result of the surgery:
“Tyreek Hill’s surgery is now complete and “went very well according to his doctors”, per the receiver’s agent Drew Rosenhaus, who added another surgery will not be needed. “It’s about rehab and he will play next season. The realistic goal is the start of the season.”
When the injury happened Hill was carted off the field and immediately taken to the hospital by ambulance. As the cart was moving off he was clapping his hands, waving to the fans and was actually smiling. All of this was happening with an air cast on his knee. For such a devastating injury he took it pretty well and in good spirits. His parents were with him at the hospital prior to the surgery. And he posted video prior to the surgery saying:
“I’m about to go in for this surgery, keep ya boy in your prayers. You guys have been awesome, ‘Fins nation, just the whole entire NFL have been amazing, sending me lots of love, lots of prayers. I’m absolutely honored, granted the situation,” he said pointing to his injured leg, “but I love you guys so much and hope to see you soon.”

Although he will miss the rest of the 2025 NFL season at least they are optimistic about him being able to play in 2026. However, will the 31-year old veteran still be the “cheetah” with the blazing speed? With such a brutal injury occurring will he even want to continue playing? Naturally we’ll have to wait to get the answers to those questions. However, head coach Mike Daniel was impressed with Hill’s response after the injury. He stated:
“He was probably in the best spirits of any player that I’ve ever – it’s such a terrible experience when you go out and see guys when they have issues like that. But he immediately had wide eyes and was talking, ‘I’m good, just make sure the guys get this win.'”
Well whatever his future holds, we wish Tyreek a healthy and speedy recovery.
