Dodgers Shohei Ohtani Blasts a 476 Feet Homer Against Colorado Rockies

We are all quite used to seeing the $700 million dollar man hitting dingers. However, each one still seems so exciting. You’d think we would tire or it would get monotonous to witness a ball go flying out a stadium at full speed. But it’s something about watching a smooth swing, hearing that classic crack sound off the bat and gazing as a baller triumphantly rounds the bases. This good vibes feeling was ever present as the Dodgers Shohei Ohtani blasted a 476 feet homer against the Colorado Rockies. The longest home run in Major League Baseball this season.

However, this is not the longest homer of Ohtani’s career, but it is still a mammoth. Shohei’s longest home run of his career went another 17 feet. On June 30, 2023, Ohtani drove a slider from lefty Tommy Henry 493 feet to right field. Helping the Angels win 5-1.

Also, there’s a few guys who have come close to Shohei’s display of raw power this year. Aaron Judge and Mike Trout have both hit a homer going 473 feet. Plus, Bobby Witt Jr. destroyed a ball with it reaching 468 feet.

Yet, last night’s game (Dodgers vs Rockies) itself was as wild as the stats above. And a high scoring one to boot. The Rockies and Dodgers were both exchanging blows and knocking in runs. A full out battle.

But Los Angeles would come away victorious, as they have so many other times so far this season. The Dodgers are sitting pretty right now on top of the NL West division with 46 wins. With every other franchise in the same division majorly struggling right now, the team can take a nice 9-10 game lead sigh of relief.

The closest competition in the NL West are the San Diego Padres. Who have 37 wins for the season. And they have now lost 5 in a row.

Nevertheless, the boys of blue are powering full speed ahead. In pursuit of taking their super team all the way to the Fall Classic. And hopefully bringing the first of many championships to the city of Angels; as Shohei Ohtani said was his mission.

Ohtani and his fellow blue men definitely got the job done last night. His home run which went 476 feet, completely clearing the center field pond was only one part of the magic. Teoscar Hernandez and Jason Hayward also went yard.

Hernandez crushed an insane go-ahead 3-run home run (making him the hero). And Jason Hayward then told his teammate to hold his beer; and hit a monstrous grand slam. All of this led to the Dodgers winning 11-9.

This is a great sign for the team, especially after losing Mookie Betts due to injury. Betts exited a recent game after being hit on the hand by a 98mph fastball. While no team stays completely healthy all season. It has to feel good to the Dodgers organization and their fans to still see plenty of success despite challenges.
