Dodgers May Have Interest in Hye-Seong Kim- Dave Roberts Hints
Dave Roberts is not good at keeping secrets or keeping the cat in the bag. We all remember the funny Roberts slip up from the off-season about the Shohei Ohtani and Dodgers free agent meeting going extremely well. Nevertheless, that’s now in the past, and Dave and the Los Angeles franchise now have their sights sets on yet another player. According to a little hinting on Dave’s part, the Dodgers may have interest in Hye-Seong Kim.
While Dodgers fans have been having interest in the Padres’ Ha-seong Kim who reach free agency if not extended by San Diego. They may quickly come to feel as the Dodgers organization and switch their attention to Hye-Seong. Due to his amazing fielding and defensive talents. Hye-seong Kim is a South Korean professional baseball infielder for the Kiwoom Heroes of the KBO League. He’s won gold gloves (1 at SS and 2 at 2B); and has been impressive playing against the Dodgers.
During a Seoul, Korea exhibition game, Kim stepped up to bat 3 times. When all was said and done, he went 1-3; with a huge double. MLB Network’s Jon Morosi had this to say about the at bat,
Hye Seong Kim, who will be posted for MLB clubs this offseason, just pulled a 96-mph Bobby Miller fastball for a double off the right field wall. Big statement by Kim, the Kiwoom Heroes 2B/SS, that he can handle high-end velocity.

Therefore, the show that Kim put on in Korea, definitely drew some scouting eyes of interest in his direction. The Dodgers who are working towards bringing multiple parades to the city of Los Angeles are certainly going to be keeping tabs on the powerhouse infielder.
Furthermore, Jon Morosi is also the reporter to acknowledge that Roberts and the Dodgers like what they see. Morosi reveals,
“Dave Roberts said after the game: ‘Our scouts like their second baseman.’ Yes, he was referring to Hye Seong Kim.”
Nice. Furthermore, if interest does not wane; Kim could be a very sweet addition for the Dodgers. Kim possesses a batting career-best .335 in 2023. He also added seven home runs, 57 RBI, 25 stolen bases and an .842 OPS. Moreover, Kim is a .300 hitter since debuting in the KBO in 2017. In 162 games, Kim averages 172 hits, 61 RBI and 35 stolen bases.
