Dodgers Dave Roberts Gives Ohtani Playing Update From Seoul
The Dodgers having been taking care of business while overseas. Playing in exhibition games, indulging in the culture and helping to spread as well as cement the LA and MLB brand to other markets. Nevertheless, the Los Angeles ball club’s manager also took a few moments to provide a quick update on one of baseball’s most exciting players. The Dodgers Dave Roberts gives an Ohtani playing update from Seoul, Korea; giving some insight into what fans can expect from their $700 million dollar man.
Well, so far in terms of rehabbing, things look really good. Especially, when focusing on the batting side of things. After having a procedure, Shohei Ohtani has already been in several spring training lineups showing off his batting abilities. With several home runs under his belt he looks like the Shohei everyone is familiar with. Moreover, the Dodgers organization seems happy with his progress and so do fans. However, what about when it comes to throwing and pitching?
Once more, not too much new news about Shohei. He will not be pitching this season; yet once he steps back on LA ground he will start a program that will help him get back into throwing form. Furthermore, oddly there might be some fielding in Ohtani’s future this season. Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports,
“Shohei Ohtani will begin his throwing program once the Dodgers return to the U.S. following the Seoul Series, Dave Roberts announced today.
The Dodgers have left open the possibility that Shohei Ohtani could play in the field at some point later this season; that is contingent on his throwing program.
Dave Roberts said Ohtani’s sole focus for now is DH.
Ohtani won’t pitch this year, as previously announced.”

Interesting. However, we are sure most Dodgers fans would probably not like the idea of that so much. They most likely would prefer to have Shohei Ohtani not fielding in any way, shape or form. What happens if he pulls something or aggravates another area? Seems like an unnecessary risk.
Truth is, is that LA fans, and Dodger fans from around the globe wish to see their golden guy back to playing as a two way player. The goal is to get the guy back on the mound. Therefore, focusing on get his throwing arm strong and back up to speed is what the people want. And if him only DH-ing all year gets it done, so be it.
