Denver Nuggets Nikola Jokic Sets New Career-High in 3-Pointers Made
This is a very tough loss for the Mile High City. Especially, when you have a guy putting on a total show against the Clippers. However, James Harden and the LA crew proved to be too much to handle despite Denver Nuggets Nikola Jokic Setting a New Career-High in 3-Pointers Made.
The Clippers rolled into Denver’s house on a mission. They had lost their season opener inside their new home, Intuit Dome; and wanted to get back on track. After a grueling four quarters they emerged as the victors, winning the matchup against the Nuggets, 109-104.
As one can see, it was a VERY close game that could go anyway. Especially, the way Jokic was playing and putting out. At the end of the game, Nikola’s stats were:
41 Points (17 in the 4th)
9 Rebounds
7 Threes
4 Assists
2 Steals
14/26 FG
On both sides of the ball Jokic was trying to get the win for Denver. Even setting a new career high for himself. Knocking down 7 threes.

This is an area, that Nikola feels him and the Denver organization can work on. In an after game presser this week, Jokic discussed what he felt were some the issues Denver is dealing with currently. His words are ringing alarms especially since the team now has lost two games.
Jokic says the problem is simple, shooting. He states,
“I mean we don’t shoot the ball very well. We are not a good shooting team, except Mike and Jamal. All of us are kind of streaky, not streaky, but just average shooters. Average shooters, but yeah, if you have something else too, we can probably be better or have an advantage in some other things on the floor and that’s it.”
Ouch. That’s some tough “love” and tough words to swallow. However, honesty is the best policy in order to improve. Obviously, the Nuggets can and will continue to look at themselves objectively and make the necessary adjustments to get onto a better path and trajectory for the season. And there’s still plenty of season and time left to be able to do so. The party is just beginning.
However, what Jokic is doing on the court cannot be ignored. He is yet again showing why his name and MVP continue to be married together. We’re excited to see more from him this season.
