Denver Broncos Land Jaylen Waddle in Blockbuster Post-Free Agency Trade With Miami

Denver is out here doing business and making a splash. Early Tuesday morning, news has emerged that the Denver Broncos are landing Jaylen Waddle in a blockbuster post-free agency trade with the Miami Dolphins. This deal is many months in the making, with reports of Miami being in discussions with the Broncos organization even last year. As NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo puts it, “This one went back and forth for a bit. Seemed dead at one point last week. Gained steam and gets done.”

As everyone always wants to know, what are the trade details. We know mainly what Denver is getting, but what is in it for the Dolphins? Check out this information below:

Full trade details:

– Broncos get Jaylen Waddle and Dolphins’ 2026 4th-round pick.

– Dolphins get the Broncos’ 2026 1st round pick (30th overall), 3rd-round and 4th-round picks.

This means that the Dolphins now have four picks in the third round this year. Miami was able to get a lot for Waddle.

Adam Schefter also chronicled the events that led to this massive trade and confirmed the picks to be swapped. He reveals,

“Broncos are trading for Miami WR Jaylen Waddle, per source. Denver receives: Waddle and Dolphins’ 4th-round pick (11th in round) in this year’s draft. Miami receives: Broncos’ 1st round pick (30th overall) along with their late 3rd and 4th round picks (30th in each round) in this year’s draft.

Miami considered trading Jaylen Waddle ahead of last season’s trade deadline; it had conversations with Denver and Buffalo. Now, with a new regime in Miami, the Dolphins revisit trade talks with the Broncos in this time get it done.

The Broncos have made zero outside free agent signings to this point this offseason. They now make a major move acquiring Jaylen Waddle from Miami.”

The Broncos Wide Receiver room now includes: Jaylen Waddle, Courtland Sutton, Pat Bryant, Troy Franklin; Marvin Mims, Lil’Jordan Humphrey and Michael Bandy. And premium draft pick compensation is headed to Miami. Ian Rapaport of NFL Network says, “The Dolphins held firm on any talks of a Jaylen Waddle trade, believing he was worth a first rounder. Now, they get it. Meanwhile, the Broncos get a premium playmaker.” Sounds like both organizations are pretty happy with this move.
