Dennis Rodman Will Be Inducted Into The WWE Hall of Fame

He was a five-time NBA champion and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame back in 2011. Now one of the most prolific basketball players to ever bless the game shall be recognized in a completely different sector of sports entertainment; for his impact and influence on wrestling pop culture. Former Pistons and Bulls star Dennis Rodman will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

The nWo legend Dennis Rodman will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2026. He joins Demolition, AJ Styles & Stephanie McMahon. The ceremony will take place later this year in April.

When you hear the name Dennis Rodman, you may think the multicolored hair. The wedding dress outfit to marry himself. Him leaving the Bulls during the 1998 NBA Finals for a WCW wrestling appearance. Or perhaps the head butting a referee, kicking a cameraman and the eye, ear, and nose piercings for a little extra spice and razzle dazzle.

Whether he was on the court. Or off the court (most likely in Vegas). This man left an indelible mark.

His former head coach Phil Jackson even commented on the Rodman effect in the NBA and elsewhere. His celebrity and the motion he had at his height was a constant fixture in numerous news cycles. In 2011 right before Rodman’s Hall of Fame induction, Phil Jackson remarked,

“Dennis changed how players look at their game, how they can impact the game despite not scoring but by rebounding and defending. But he is kind of an enigma. No doubt, he was one of the most famous personalities in the last 20 years of basketball. It was stepping into character, a personality,” said Jackson. “Finding his character was an influence of Madonna’s.

[However], there’s no question about the fact this guy had a tremendous amount of talent for the game and changed the basketball concept. The season we got Dennis we recorded the best record in NBA history. It tells you a lot about his impact. The year (Scottie) Pippen sat out the first three months after an operation, Michael told me he felt Dennis was the MVP of that team.”

Yes, Dennis Rodman has fully danced to the beat of his own drum. And has lived a life that could not have been scripted even by the best of writers. He seriously was a wrestling star and NBA champion again in the span of hours. Some of Rodman’s wrestling appearances included tag-team matches against Karl Malone and Diamond Dallas Page (DDP) at Bash at the Beach in 1997 and 1998. He also joined the New World Order (nWo) in 1997, bringing enormous mainstream media attention with him.

Shams Charania broke the news regarding Dennis Rodman’s wrestling Hall of Fame status. Charania revealed,

“Crossover: Basketball Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in April, per ESPN sources. Rodman made his WCW debut in 1997 and famously skipped a practice during the 1998 NBA Finals for a wrestling match alongside Hulk Hogan. Two HOFs for Rodman.”

Rodman’s induction ceremony will take place in Las Vegas on Friday Night, April 17th. Congratulations RodZilla.
