Dallas Cowboys Headed To Philadelphia To Kick Off The 2025 Season With The Eagles
The defending Super Bowl LIX champions are preparing to open the new season this Thursday night. They will be hosting “America’s Team” who has recently made a surprising transaction. They traded away their pass rushing superstar Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. So on that note, the Dallas Cowboys are headed to Philadelphia to kick off the 2025 NFL season with the Eagles. As usual both teams have made changes during the offseason so what should fans expect to see?
Well for starters R&B group Boys II Men will be performing the National Anthem before the game. The members are native Philadelphians so there was no question that they wouldn’t be willling to perform for their hometown team. According to the band’s manager, Joe Mulvihill, “Well, we have to do it because Wan’ (Wanya Morris) will kill us if we don’t,” Mulvihill recalls Nathan Morris and Shawn Stockman, the other two members of the band, saying. “There’s like an unspoken word that when it comes to the Eagles, the answer is ‘Yes.'”
So the entertainment is taken care of but what about the teams? The Eagles Kevin Patullo is starting his fifth year with the team. But this year he will be the Eagles’ offensive coordinator and play caller. Regarding the change Patullo said:
“I’m excited,” Patullo said on Monday. “I mean, it’s fun. It’s a huge opportunity, obviously. But it goes back to even in Year 1 with Nick (Sirianni) just working through all the situations and things that we’ve done together. So, I’ve been a part of so much of it. It doesn’t feel too much different. But it is exciting, and I think the guys feel a good energy, and they’re excited too.”
As for the Cowboys they will be without Micah Parsons but they did acquire Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark. He is expected to shore up their below average run defense. And they extended versatile cornerback DaRon Bland.

However, you never know how a team will perform from one season to the next. But I think it’s safe to say that the Eagles have been pretty stable the last few years. And they very much want to defend their Super Bowl title. Yet Cowboys fans believe every year that “This is our year!” We’ll have to tune in on Thursday night to see if they are correct. The game will be aired nationally on the NBC Network at 8:20 EDT.
And following will be the Friday night battle between AFC West rivals Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
