Dallas Cowboys Are Trading Three-Time All-Pro LB Micah Parsons to Green Bay Packers
A bit of news that is very unexpected. Dallas is making a move that is leaving a chunk of football fans quite stunned. On Thursday, the Dallas Cowboys revealed that they are trading three-time All-Pro LB Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers.
What’s the package looking like? Dallas is trading Micah in exchange for a compensation package of 2026 and 2027 first-round picks and three-time Pro Bowler Kenny Clark.
Like in NBA terms this isn’t quite Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. But it is definitely coming in strong with the same vibes. A decision that certainly makes you do a double take to make sure your eyes are seeing and believing.
Dallas and Parsons had come to a standstill regarding getting a contract extension done. Yet, Micah had shown up to mini camp to prep for the season. As we reported back in June, Micah has played 4 seasons for Dallas and was about to enter his fifth. He has had 172 solo tackles, 84 assists, 52.5 sacks and 4 fumble recoveries. In the 2024 season alone, Parsons had 12 sacks, 43 tackles, one pass defended, and two forced fumbles. Plus, he’s made some history. Micah Parsons surpassed 10.0 sacks in 2024, becoming the fourth NFL player since 1982 with at least 10.0 sacks in each of his first four seasons. But it looks as though these two parties have now parted ways and Micah will now take his talents to Lambeau Field.

Nonetheless, ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news regarding Parsons detailing the trade. Green Bay seems thrilled to be bringing Micah aboard and is already showing him the money. Schefter reports,
“ESPN Sources: Cowboys are trading three-time All-Pro LB Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers.
Parsons and the Packers already have reached agreement on a four-year, $188 million contract. David Mulugheta of Athletes First had a hand in the trade and ultimately negotiating the record-breaking contract that includes $120 million fully guaranteed at signing and makes Parsons the highest-paid non-QB in NFL history.
What Micah Parsons did in four years with Dallas and what Green Bay is now getting:
4 Pro Bowler
3x All-Pro
Defensive Rookie of the Year
52.5 sacks
9 forced fumbles
4 fumble recoveries”
Yes, the Green Bay Packers are getting themselves a real gem on the field. And have added additional strength on their defense. Now we get to kick back and see what magic Parsons creates this season.
