Cowboys Micah Parsons to Attend Mini Camp Despite Contract Extension Not Being Done
He’s been eligible for an extension and has been waiting patiently. Not making a single fuss about it while continuing to be a great team player. Which is why it’s not surprising that the Dallas Cowboys Micah Parsons has promised to attend mini camp despite a contract extension not being done.
Parsons loves being a Cowboy. And the Cowboys need him. Micah has played 4 seasons for Dallas and is about to enter his fifth. He has had 172 solo tackles, 84 assists, 52.5 sacks and 4 fumble recoveries. In the 2024 season alone, Parsons had 12 sacks, 43 tackles, one pass defended, and two forced fumbles. Plus, he’s made some history. Micah Parsons surpassed 10.0 sacks in 2024, becoming the fourth NFL player since 1982 with at least 10.0 sacks in each of his first four seasons.
However, as Dallas lingers in working out his contract; Micah has been absent for some recent Dallas OTAs. Nevertheless, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer is not worried. He commented on Micah Parsons continued absence after asking him to be present stating,
“Being present doesn’t necessarily mean being here all the time. Doesn’t even necessarily mean having to practice. It means being present, being around the guys. We all don’t see the things that some of these guys do away from here. There’s a lot of work being done away from here, whether it’s with other players in the NFL, our guys, things like that.
The thing that I know about Micah is Micah wants to be here. He’s excited about what we’re building. He’s been a big proponent of that. You can lead a lot of different ways.
This is a business. And they’re working through the business part of this deal. Everything I’ve asked him to do, no different than everybody that’s here, he’s been great. That gets me excited. I’m a big fan of Micah.”
Nonetheless, when specifically asked about Parsons attending the Cowboys minicamp; Schottenheimer seemed confident. Regarding Micah being present at the upcoming camp he mentions, “I would assume. Micah and I talked a couple of days ago. He’s doing a little bit of traveling but again, everything that he and I talked about, I expect that he will be here.”

Schottenheimer’s confidence is obviously not misplaced. Micah Parsons confirmed that he will be at mini camp. He took to social media in order to let Dallas fans know.
Micah revealed, “I will be there! I haven’t missed a mini camp in 4 years! Even though the contract is not done, I have teammates and a playbook. I’m preparing as if I will be on the field the first week of camp! But it’s in the owner’s hands. I’m ready to win a Super Bowl!”
Well, Parsons sounds pumped for next season. And fully ready to get to work. Now we wait and see if Dallas can finally get Micah’s deal done.
