Wild. Did you watch the 3rd most watched NFL game in history? If you tuned into the Cowboys and Commanders Week 12 game on Thanksgiving; you sure did!
Big numbers. Broken records. This game had it all.
The NFL Ratings for the Cowboys-Commanders game is crazy. Dallas won in a blow out 45-10 but the game still had 41.4 million viewers, with a peak of 44.2 million. That is the 3rd most watched #NFL game IN HISTORY. So many people watched DaRon Bland break the NFL record for pick-6s in a single season.
Moreover, speaking of Bland, what he is doing is nothing short of legendary. Plus, his legacy is an excellent model for any young kid hoping to be a NFL superstar. ESPN’s Ed Werder describes DaRon’s background stating,
When your young athlete is struggling and needs inspiration, tell them about DaRon Bland.
One scholarship offer out of HS from Sacramento State. Later played at Fresno State. Cowboys 5th-round pick. The 22nd CB drafted. NFL record for most pick-6s in single season with 5.
[Al Harris] has coached and developed Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland. Before his injury, nobody had more INT since he was drafted. Now Bland has set NFL pick-6 record and leads NFL in INT this season and since he was drafted last year.

Watching DaRon make NFL history sure was exciting. And as mentioned, millions got to see it with their own eyes. CBS officially confirmed the news in a brief statement. The television network states,
“NFL ON CBS delivers massive audience with 41.438 million viewers for the Cowboys’ win over the Commanders on Thanksgiving.
Most-watched program on any network since Super Bowl LVII and the third-most watched NFL regular season game ever.”
In terms of ratings the NFL is having a very good year. Viewership is up and even skyrocketing in some instances. From Sunday to Thursday, football fans can’t seem to get enough. Hopefully, the NFL continues to listen to fans and make changes that make the game more fun, action-packed and competitive.
