Clippers’ James Harden Entered the Top 10 on the All-Time Scoring

He was playing against the Timberwolves and made it to the free throw line. It would be here that one of the game’s greats would move into an exclusive, elite group. The Los Angeles Clippers’ James Harden entered the Top 10 on the all-time scoring list joining the likes of Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Wilt Chamberlain.

The National Basketball Association released a brief statement via social media regarding Harden’s historic accomplishment. NBA states,

“James Harden never just played the game, he’s stayed ahead of the curve. He’s innovated and expanded how the game is played. And every time the rest of the world caught up, he’s onto his next invention. So it only makes sense that he’s climbed the scoring charts for over a decade.

Congrats to a real basketball innovator for officially moving into 10th on the all-time NBA scoring list!”

Nice. So then, if you are keeping track of who is now apart of the top ten regular season scorers; the list is looking like this:

LeBron James. (42,268)
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. (38,387)
Karl Malone. (36,928)
Kobe Bryant. (33,643)
Michael Jordan. (32,292)
Dirk Nowitzki. (31,560)
Wilt Chamberlain. (31,419)
Kevin Durant. (31,044)
Shaquille O’Neal.

And now, drum roll please, thank you … JAMES HARDEN!

Clippers’ James Harden Entered the Top 10 on the All-Time Scoring List

Harden seems to be in almost disbelief over his achievement. After joining the top ten all time scorers James expressed to the media,

“You look at that list, it’s like there’s no way I got an opportunity to be a part of this list. It’s just literally like a dream come true. The work that I literally put in is coming to fruition. There’s so many things that this game has done for me, and I’m sure for all those guys as well. And those names are still being talked about post basketball.”

On his way to top ten icon status, James Harden passed Carmelo Anthony for 10th on the NBA all-time scoring list. Anthony amassed 28,289 points throughout his career and Harden scooted on by him with 28,290 points. And now he has a chance to catch another big name. Shaquille O’Neal.

Currently, O’Neal is sitting at number nine on the all time list. Shaq put up 28,596 points; so Harden is just around 300 points away from passing up O’Neal. Therefore, we could witness Harden moving up on the scoring list and within the top ten. Congratulations to James Harden.
