Cincinnati Bengals Grind Out A Win In the Big Apple

The Bengals came in with a record of 1-4 and the Giants were 2-3. So both teams really needed a win. In the end, the Cincinnati Bengals did what they had to do to grind out a win in the Big Apple. Joe Burrow got the party started when he ran uncontested into the end zone on a 47-yard touchdown score. Giants players chased from behind but couldn’t stop him from diving for the pylon to get the score.

Following that the Giants got into the red zone. However, Daniel Jones threw the ball into a sea of Bengals and was intercepted. He missed the open man off to the right in the end zone.

In the first half RB Chase Brown was running all over the place punishing the Giants. But they finally blew up a running play when Brian Burns got into the Bengals backfield forcing them to punt. Then DE Trey Hendrickson returned the favor by getting in the Giants’ back field and sacking Daniel Jones.

This game was an absolute bruiser, with hard hits being delivered by both teams on both sides of the ball. The score stayed 7-0 until the third quarter when the Giants started running the ball. The Bengals couldn’t corral their running game and the Giants scored a touchdown. But the Bengals came right back and tacked on another field goal.

In the fourth quarter the Giants failed to convert to convert a fourth down. When the Bengals took over they tried to run the ball but the Giants weren’t having that. So Burrow connected on a 29-yard pass to Andrei Iosivas who tapped his toes down in bounds. It was demoralizing to the Giants as they then allowed Chase Brown to run right up the middle to score the 30-yard touchdown.

There were battles going on all night in this game. Dexter Lawrence who likes to be called “Sexy Dexy” seemed to be everywhere on the field at once. He played a big part in the Giants defense making Burrow uncomfortable and he sacked Burrow once.

But Trey Hendrickson was just as fierce in helping his Bengals’ defense. He sacked Daniel Jones twice and had two tackles for lost yards. And so many other players did their part to help their respective teams try to win. Unfortunately Giants’ kicker Greg Joseph missed two field goals in the fourth quarter allowing the Bengals to run out the clock. After a long, hard fight the Bengals won 17-7. Ice baths for everyone!
