Chiefs Planning to Designate Isiah Pacheco and Charles Omenihu to Return From IR
They have been riddled with injuries all season; yet that has not deterred them from remaining undefeated this year. However, now Kansas City is about to get a major lift. The Chiefs are planning to designate RB Isiah Pacheco and DL Charles Omenihu to return from the IR.
FOX Sports NFL insider Jordan Schultz helped to break the news regarding the moves Kansas City is making with some of their players healing up from injuries. He reveals,
“Sources: The Chiefs are planning to designate RB Isiah Pacheco and DL Charles Omenihu to return from IR this week.
The 9-0 Chiefs, the last remaining undefeated team, are starting to get healthier. A scary sight.”
The Kansas City Chiefs’ coach Andy Reid also spoke about Isiah and Charles and others during a recent presser. Mentioning that the team is close to getting a nice roster boost. Reid confirms, “They’re all close. JuJu closer than the other two. I’d tell you, we might have them out there (at practice). They’re all close, all three of them.”
So what can fans expect? Does this mean that Kansas City is showing that Omenihu and Pacheco will start on Sunday? No, not necessarily.

While this is a very good sign for both players. Fans should not automatically expect to see either player on the field in a few more days. Hayley Lewis of Chiefs News Daily and Bleacher Report explains,
“According to Jordan Schultz the Chiefs plan to designate 2 players to return this week: RB Isiah Pacheco who suffered a fibula injury in Week 2; while DE Charles Omenihu tore his ACL in January’s AFC Championship Game/started the regular season on the PUP list.
If confirmed, this means the 21 day window would open up. Once a player is cleared to practice, they have 21 days to either be activated to the active roster or be placed on the season-ending IR. It doesn’t necessarily mean either will be playing this coming Sunday.”
Nonetheless, whenever the Chiefs get back their “fallen” soldiers and comrades; the team will be in even better shape. Especially, as we enter the final weeks of the season. Getter stronger on the field at this point in time will only help Kansas City continue on in their quest for yet another championship.
