Chiefs and Eagles Week 11 Showdown-Eagles Soared Getting A Huge Victory Over the Chiefs
Chiefs and Eagles Week 11 … This was the game of the week and Philadelphia understood the assignment. The Eagles soared high getting a huge victory over the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes. It was a revenge game for the Eagles that didn’t start off well for them. The Chiefs defense immediately got in Jalen Hurts face repeatedly. On first and second downs they rushed the usually elusive quarterback. In the first half the Chiefs defense racked up five sacks.
Moreover, the iconic “push tush” was missing most of the game. Once the running game and formerly known “quarterback sneak” came back into the Eagles’ gameplay; the tide begins to turn. Mahomes does his best to get his receivers the ball. However, he watches pass after pass get dropped.
Eagles Coach Nick Sirianni expresses the feel of the game; not only for the players; but fans at the game and at home. He says, “That was gritty. That was grimy. It isn’t about who is the toughest. It’s about who is the toughest the longest.”
Toughest team ends up being the Eagles. They win the big season bout 21-17. Placing Philadelphia at 9-1 for the season.
Nevertheless, although a win is a win; what about the sloppy play though from the Eagles? The first half of the game is not pretty. We can just picture several fans at home ready to throw a shoe at their screens.
Eagles’ Lane Johnson makes it clear that the team knows they need to play better. And yesterday’s first half is not their best. Johnson simply states, “It was sloppy. The defense saved our a**.” Enough said.
Moreover, in regards to Philadelphia’s approach to the game Siranni states, “We weren’t thinking, ‘Hey, we’re coming up here to avenge a loss.’ That’s a different magnitude of game. That was for everything. So we’re just pleased to get that win. They ain’t giving us the rings back. I know that.”

Well, regardless the Eagles to everyone else are now “The Avengers” and are putting up numbers like a blockbuster box office. Joe Pompliano, who discusses sports and business on his podcast, The Joe Pomp Show; reveals just how popular this Chiefs/Eagles matchup was for NFL fans. Joe mentions,
The Super Bowl rematch between the Chiefs and Eagles averaged 28.9 million viewers on Monday Night Football.
That makes it the most-watched MNF game in over 25 years and easily the most-watched NFL game this season.
Monster numbers.
Monster indeed. Moreover, lightning seems to be striking twice for the Philadelphia Eagles. The Birds also have the #2 most-watched game of the year against the Cowboys. (27.1M) Therefore, in terms of television viewership and game wins; the Eagles right now are MONEY!
However, there’s one more interesting fact about all this we must tell you before we let you go. Does Philadelphia being 9-1 foreshadow a Super Bowl win? If history holds true, it just might.
NBC sports anchor, John Clark gives a quick NFL lesson. Clark says,
“Nick Sirianni is the 6th NFL head coach to lead his team to a 9-1 start or better in back-to-back seasons since the 1970 merger. The other coaches are Tony Dungy, Mike Shanahan, Marv Levy, George Seifert and Don Shula.
Each of those teams won a Super Bowl except for the Bills.”
