Chicago Sky Kamilla Cardoso Will Make WNBA Debut Against Indiana Fever!
Don’t you just love a great matchup? Women’s hoops kicked off with a bang this season with several veteran versus rookie matchups. However, now these first season athletes are going to get a little primetime action of their very own. As Chicago Sky star Kamilla Cardoso will make her WNBA debut against the Indiana Fever.
Therefore, yes, Indiana and Caitlin Clark is going to be facing some old college competition. As Angel Reese and Kamilla roll into town in a few days at the beginning of June. More specifically, the game will take place on June 1st. So mark a calendar and set a phone alarm if you wish to partake.
Now, this season not all of the WNBA’s games have been broadcast. While ratings do continue to tick upward and break records. So far, the broadcasting schedule has left quite a few games out in the cold.
What about this matchup between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky? Well, the midday game will air via Fubo, NBA TV and ABC.

Nevertheless, as long as everything goes to plan health wise, we will be able to see Kamilla’s debut and no doubt a fast paced, hard fought game. Regarding the game and Cardoso FOX Chicago states,
“According to Sky head coach Teresa Weatherspoon, Cardoso is indeed targeting June 1 for her Chicago Sky and WNBA debut. That game is a noon tip against the Indiana Fever and No. 1 overall pick Caitlin Clark. Cardoso returned to practice for the first time Tuesday. She was limited, Weatherspoon said.
Cardoso initially broke the news about her return on an Instagram live stream. When Weatherspoon was asked about the timeline on Tuesday after the team’s practice, she said the team is aligned with June 1 is Cardoso’s targeted timeline.
Cardoso was originally going to miss four to six weeks after she injured her shoulder in a preseason game against the Minnesota Lynx earlier this month. If Cardoso’s timeline comes to fruition, this means she will play her first game with the Chicago Sky on June 1 against Clark and former South Carolina teammate Aliyah Boston. It would also be the first time Sky star rookie Angel Reese and Cardoso get to suit up as teammates. Whether Cardoso plays on June 1 remains to be seen. She would need to be cleared by the team first.”
Well, hopefully the clearance occurs and Kamilla gets to make her debut. Plus, then we’ll get to enjoy the Sky hooping against the Fever. Currently, the Sky are 1-1 (next two games are Thursday and Friday); and the Fever are 0-4 (will play Wednesday against Storm).
