Chicago Selected Caleb Williams With No. 1 Pick In The NFL Draft
Well we hardly think anyone is surprised with who was picked number one overall in the 2024 NFL Draft. They made no bones about who they wanted. And so the Chicago Bears selected Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Williams is expected to be their future and lead the team into a new era of Chicago Bears history. In an interview on The Pivot, Williams said he wants to play at one place for 20 years and chase one guy No. 12 (Tom Brady). Those are some very lofty goals that Williams has and many feel that he will be able to achieve them. He projects readiness to lead the Bears to new heights.
When it comes to drafting players their tangibles and intangibles are always brought up. Williams certainly has the tangibles when it comes to size and build being 6’1″ and 215 lbs. His arm strength and accuracy are on point. However, it’s the intangibles that make talent evaluation more difficult.
How are his decision-making skills, does he thrive or crumble under pressure, is he a leader? Transitioning from college to professional often provides more clarity on these questions. But the Bears clearly believe Williams has what it takes to be their starting quarterback.

But before we go any further can we talk about his fit for the 2024 NFL Draft? It was a navy blue double-breasted suit that looked almost black featuring a zipper on the right side as opposed to the traditional suit buttons. Sparkling on the left side were three chrome hearts stacked from smallest to largest.
And one was also featured on the back of the pant leg as a monochrome. In his NFL Network interview, he said his look was, “subtle, no big chains, or anything like that.” Well done, young man. There’s nothing wrong with dressing to impress; or for SUCCESS.

Nevertheless, after hearing his name called and hugging his family he headed to the stage. He was pumped up and yelling as he took the stage with commissioner Roger Goodell. His excitement was palpable and he looks more than ready to get to work.
Williams had a decorated three year career with the USC Trojans winning the Heisman, Maxwell, and Walter Camp awards in 2022. Now he is looking to bring that success to Chicago, who hasn’t won a championship since the 1985 Bears. But it should be fun to watch him develop whether you’re a Bears fan or not.
