Chargers Fell Short Against the Bills
After the blowout loss to the Raiders last week, the Chargers were looking to rebound. However, the Chargers fell short against the Bills on Saturday Night Football. Since they had nothing to lose they let it fly. They did some wild cat, they were able to run the ball, and QB Easton Stick was connecting with his receivers.
On the other hand the Bills were coming off a huge upset win over the Cowboys. Per Cris Collinsworth, it’s difficult for a team to come down off the high of winning a big game. And then refocus on the next game. Especially since it was a short week for them having to travel across country to Los Angeles.
So, the Chargers jumped out to a 0-10 lead. Everything was working for them. Whereas the Bills seemed a little sluggish initially and had to punt the ball a few times. But in the second quarter, they started to come alive. Besides Josh Allen connecting with his receivers, they also got Leonard Fournette involved. He did some tough running and even played on special teams.
With the awakening of the Bills they scored two touchdowns in the second quarter. The second one was scored with just :38 left on the clock. The Chargers ran one play and let the quarter end. Buffalo was up 14-10 at the half.
It was a rough start to the third quarter for both teams. San Diego had to punt and then Josh Allen threw an interception. Then San Diego kicked a field goal and narrowed the score to 14-13. That seemed to spur the Bills to action. They spent almost six minutes on a drive culminating in a one yard touchdown run by Josh Allen.

San Diego mounted a fourth quarter comeback, scoring two fields. Then caused a fumble which lead to a third field goal and a 21-22 lead. When the Bills got the ball back they drove down the field. It appeared they had scored a touchdown but the call was overturned.
The officials said the receiver had been touched prior to getting up and running into the end zone. It was a very close call and I’m surprised it was overturned.
The Bills settled for the field goal. San Diego had about 28 seconds left on the clock. They tried to lateral the ball back and forth but they ended the game with an illegal forward pass. So the Bills escaped with a 24-22 win as the Chargers once again came close but fell short.
