Celtics Jayson Tatum Helped Off Court Late in Game 4 After Apparent Leg Injury
Boston has a real uphill battle on their hands if they wish to continue a playoff run. However, in an unfortunate turn of events, they will more than likely have to do so without their star player. Celtics Jayson Tatum was helped off the court late in Game 4 after suffering an apparent leg injury.
Down by nine points with about three minutes left on the clock in regulation. Boston was hard at work to try and tie things up, if not take the lead. Game 4 was a must win for the Celtics and New York Knicks. For the Knicks it was the path to a commanding 3-1 lead in the series; for Boston it would even out the series instead of placing them deeper in the hole.
However, in this very crucial and critical moment in the fourth quarter; things turned tense for the Celtics. Tatum suddenly falls to the ground; while pursuing a loose ball. Wincing in excruciating pain.
He is unable to stand or walk under his own power. Tatum is eventually helped off the court and ushered to the back. Transported via a wheelchair to be looked over by medical staff.

To make matters worse, Boston could not overcome their deficit in the game. The defending champions would once again lose to the New York Knicks, 121-113. The Knicks are just one win away from eliminating the Celtics from playoff contention.
Furthermore, so far the Boston organization has been somewhat tight-lipped about Jayson Tatum. However, after the game’s conclusion head coach, Joe Mazzulla, did confirm a few things. He mentioned that Tatum did in fact suffer a lower body injury and that he will undergo a MRI in order to receive a deeper examination.
Mazzulla specifically stated, “I talked to the medical staff, they told me it’s a lower body injury and he’ll get an MRI [Tuesday],” Mazzulla told reporters. “We’ll see where it goes from there.” Therefore, this means that tomorrow the Celtics will have more information to share about this situation with Tatum.
