Going into Thursday football fans were keenly aware of a few things. For one, the Tennessee Titans would have the first pick of the draft. And two, one name out of Miami consistently popped up in almost all mock drafts as being the top selection. And come evening time, both truths came to fruition. Cam Ward goes number one overall to the Titans in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Well, Tennessee needed a quarterback badly. And now they have one to develop, shape and mold for the future. A future in which the organization hopes will see them back in contention to make the playoffs and vying for their first championship title.
While Tennessee has yet to win the big one, they have appeared in the Super Bowl. However, even that has been quite awhile. Can you remember the year? Here’s a hint: the game ended with a painful play, as a Titans player was JUST shy of getting the ball into the end zone.
If you are thinking of 2000, great. If you are also thinking Rams versus Titans and Mike Jones making a crucial tackle at the one-yard line on Kevin Dyson; then you too are a NFL Jedi.
So then yes, the Titans have appeared in one Super Bowl, Super Bowl XXXIV, in 2000, but they lost to the St. Louis Rams. While they had two championships before the AFL/NFL merger, they have never won a Super Bowl. Therefore, in this modern era they would like to change this narrative. And their first new move is with grabbing up Cam Ward.

Furthermore, Ward is a very nice option for the Titans. He had a breakout season at Miami. Garnering 4,313 passing yards and 39 touchdowns. He can evade tackles, possesses some good arm strength and can throw it down field for some nice yardage with accuracy.
However, it is also his mental grit and tenacity to overcome all challenges in the road that can not be underscored either. This is a young man that went from being vastly overlooked in high school, had a college take a chance on him and he worked his tail off in order to make the most of the opportunity.
He is an individual that is highly driven and motivated. The qualities that anyone requires to be successful and a winner on the field. Plus, he already has a big goal in mind. Before the draft Cam told the media, “Hopefully win a Super Bowl… I want to be the first rookie to do it, in the first year. So it’s a lot to put out there, but I want to do anything to make it happen and try to bring that to organization as much as I can.”

To us, that sounds like a leader. And also, what team doesn’t like a player who is goal oriented? The Titans have a guy who wants to take the team next level and hopefully they can build around him to make it possible.
Nevertheless, with Ward now in place, what’s next? Well truth be told the Titans have room for improvement all over the field, but they have more picks to address such needs. The Titans own eight picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, including two apiece in the fourth, fifth and sixth rounds. We are confident they are locked in now that they have a future QB to helm their franchise for the foreseeable future.
