You can now add basketball contributor to this Indiana point guard’s already impressive résumé. However, what will this WNBA star contribute to the NBA? Well, on Tuesday it was confirmed that Caitlin Clark will join Sunday Night Basketball as a Contributor for NBC and Peacock.
Caitlin is perfect for this role because not only does she know her stuff; but her talent backs her up. For instance, in college hoops Clark set a plethora records.Most notably becoming the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I history (men’s or women’s) with 3,951 points, the most career 3-pointers (548), and the first player with 3,000+ points, 1,000+ assists, and 900+ rebounds. Additionally, she also set records for NCAA Tournament points (491) and assists (152) and is the only player to lead her conference in scoring and assists for four straight years.
And of course, we can’t talk Caitlin without discussing her famous shot from way downtown. The three pointer. When it comes to knocking down 3’s during her tenure at Iowa, Clark became NCAA DI all-time leader (548), single-season record (201), most in NCAA Tournament history (78).
Moreover, her abilities have continued to shine in the WNBA. Clark was named the 2024 Rookie of the Year, has been an All-Star twice, named to All-WNBA First team and yes, you guessed it, set a plethora of records. Here’s a few:
- In 2024 set the single-game assist record (19), the most assists in a single season (337), and the highest scoring output by a rookie.
- First Rookie with a Triple-Double: Recorded two in her debut season.
- Fastest to 100 3-Pointers: Achieved in 34 games.
- Most 3-Pointers by a Rookie: Broke the rookie record and finished near the top of the overall single-season list.

So then, Caitlin is clearly qualified to be part of a major basketball broadcast. The National Basketball Association announced the exciting news regarding Clark stating, “Caitlin Clark joins the Sunday Night Basketball crew. Catch her on the debut broadcast this Sunday, Feb. 1 on NBC!”
Clark is also excited to be joining in on the fun on Sunday’s, she says, “I’m really excited to be part of the Basketball Night in America crew this season. Carmelo, Vince and Tracy are legends of the game and Maria is a true professional. It will be really fun to join them a few times this season.”
